PE100+ Association to present at OZPIPE 2024 in Sydney, Australia
We are pleased to announce that this year's PPCA spin-off conference, OZPIPE 2024, will take place from 11-13 November 2024 in Sydney at the InterContinental Hotel.
Having the theme:Sustainable Infrastructure - The Future is Now.
The conference is co-hosted by the PPCA and the Plastics Industry Pipe Association (PIPA) of Australia and sponsored by the PE100+ Association. Our new PE100+ Association President, Andrew Wedgner, will be attending OZPIPE 2024 and giving two technical presentations: The use of PE100+ materials in trenchless applications and a published study on hydrogen permeation in 4 different PE pipe types. PE100 pipes are the most widely used material for the installation, rehabilitation and replacement of pressure pipes for water and gas supply and for pressure sewers. Such pipes can be installed using a broad range of trenchless technologies and hence the PE100+ Association, working with trenchless industry experts have been updating our online guide, which is aimed at end users. There is also a lot of interest amongst end users regarding whether PE pipe systems can be used to safely carry Hydrogen gas in the future, as an alternative to natural gas, which in primarily methane. The association sponsored a technical investigation to define the permeation rate of hydrogen from four different types polyethylene pipes at three different temperatures, in order to calculate permeation coefficients that can be used by the industry and included in the appropriate standards. If you are based in the region, please try to join us for OZPIPE 2024, which promises to be a great technical event.
