Industry Guidelines for Electrofusion Jointing of PE Pipe Systems

The Plastics Industry Pipe Association of Australia (PIPA) has published on its website the updated guidelines for best practices in electrofusion welding, POP001 and POP001A.

Polyethylene (PE100) pipe is a widely used material in infrastructure projects such as water, sewerage and gas networks, irrigation systems and industrial and mining applications. Their installation must therefore comply with strict industry standards.

POP001 and POP001A are comprehensive guidelines to help installers ensure a successful electrofusion joint, from proper pipe preparation to welder certification.
