PE100+ provide training to Mott MacDonald and members of the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance

Andy Wedgner provided a half day training course on PE100+ pipe systems to Mott MacDonald, a global engineering consultancy and members of the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance in Cambridge, UK on 25 March 2025. The training covered:

• An introduction to the history and properties of PE100 materials
• How pipes and fittings are manufactured
• The design and Installation of PE100 pipe systems
• Their jointing using butt and electrofusion joining, together with mechanical joints
• Installation of PE100 pipes and liners using trenchless technology

The following day the trainees attended a visit to Radius Systems Ltd. a leading UK producer of PE pipes and fittings, based at Normanton, near Nottingham in the UK. After an introduction, the trainees were shown the production and quality control facilities together with watching practical demonstrations of both butt and electrofusion jointing.

The training course and factory visited provided a great example of how different members of the PE100 value chain can work together educate designers, installers and owners of PE100 pipe systems.
