Governance of the Association

Promoting usage of HDPE piping & trust in high quality PE materials

In accordance with its statutes, the PE100+ Association is governed by its members. An annual Members Meeting reviews the proposed promotion and technical programme, approves the budget and membership fees and nominates the Board of the association.

In addition, an annual Advisory Committee Meeting is held where members of the pipe value chain (pipe and fitting producers, designers, installers and system operators) not affiliated to the members are invited to review the work carried out by the Association.

Association members follow strict ethical business rules and all activities of the PE100+ Association are fully compliant with relevant competition law(s).

To be a member of the PE100+ Association, a company must have at least one of its compounds on the PE100+ Quality Materials list. This list, which is shown on the Association website, is independently maintained by Kiwa-Gastec who organises the regular testing of members’ material(s) to ensure compliance with specific criteria for creep rupture strength, stress crack resistance and resistance to rapid crack propagation.

The PE100+ Association Advisory Committee gives non-binding advice to promote the use of PE piping in general.  The Association does not position PE100+ materials over other piping materials.  The members are not restricted in any way from marketing or promoting their PE pipe materials.  In particular, members are not restricted in their marketing or promotion of PE pipe materials which do not meet the enhanced technical requirements of PE100+ products.

The Board of the Association manages all the current activities and tasks and responds to the Members. A part time Marketing Manager is co-opted from one of the member companies to support the activities of the Association.

The Board meets at least once each quarter to discuss the technical and promotion activities of the Association and to monitor the progress on specific projects.

To carry out specific projects, the Board may nominate a working group with participants from both member and non member companies. Alternatively the Board can engage consultants or reputed technical institutes to carry out project work. All projects are approved by the Members Meeting and covered within the annual budget.

The PE100+ Association also organizes Seminars and Workshops in various countries to promote the use of PE pipe compounds.  Those member companies who agree to participate in such actions share among themselves the related costs and resources.
