PE100+ Association No-Dig technical Guide
A unique online technical Guide .
A unique online Guide to help engineers identify the optimum trenchless methods for their projects using PE100 pipe is available for all to use at the PE100+ Association’s website. Developed with co-sponsors TEPPFA, Exova, Radius Systems and Downley Consultants, the Guide covers both new installation and rehabilitation of existing water and gas pipelines using trenchless methods and PE100.
This online tool guides users through a decision process based on the hydraulic capacity and pressure requirements of the pipeline and the physical and geotechnical conditions of the project. The decision module results in a solution that calculates the diameter and SDR of PE100 pipe necessary as well as identifying the feasible methods for its installation.
Clicking on any of the feasible methods identified leads to pages of information about the methods so that the user can understand their capabilities as well as the practicalities such as cleaning and inspection (for the rehabilitation methods), excavation and space requirements, end fittings, and safety. This allows the user to understand which of the feasible methods is most suitable for the project. These pages can also be accessed directly without going through the design and decision stage.
For each trenchless method links are provided to enable the user to contact suppliers of materials and equipment and to find more information about the technologies and their applications.
