50th Anniversary of the Plastic Pipes Conference Association
The Plastic Pipes Conference Association (PPCA), will celebrate its 50th anniversary in September 2023 whilst holding its 21st conference, PPXXI, at Lake Buena Vista in Florida, between 25th and 27th September 2023.
The conference is organized and hosted by PPCA members the PE 100+ Association, PPI (Plastic Pipe Institute of North America) and The European Plastic Pipes and Fittings Association (TEPPFA). It is held every two years on a schedule rotating between European and North America sites. Participants include plastic pipe and fittings manufacturers, suppliers of pipe manufacturing and jointing machinery, producers of pipe resins and additives, end user organisations and installers.
This years conference will comprise nearly 100 technical papers on a wide range of related topics and the PE100+ Association will be presenting two papers. Norbert Jansen will present a paper entitled “Published Hydrogen Permeation Study on 4 Different Types of PE pipes”, whilst Robin Bresser will present a paper regarding “The Use of PE100+ Materials in Trenchless technology Applications”.
The first paper describes and provides the outputs from a study undertaken to define the permeation rate of hydrogen through 110 mm OD SDR17 pipes, manufactured using 4 different materials, at temperatures of 8, 14 and 20°C and at a pressure of 6,3 bar. The 2nd paper will provide an overview of the trenchless methods that can be used to install PE100 pipes, together with a summary of the EN ISO 11295 family of standards that cover these trenchless methods and an introduction to the PE100+ online guide. There are still places available for the conference and so if you would be interested in attending please visit the event website.
