14 th Advisory Board Meeting

A large industry panel from several countries outside and inside Europe together with 2 local guests participated to the 14^th Advisory Board Meeting held June 17th 2013 in the eternal city of Rome.

It was opportunity to welcome our 9th Member Tasnee from Middle East.

The review of 2012 activities and projects was covered by the President, including European and Asian communications efforts : participation to ASME conference in Gloucester, to H20 conference/exhibition in Italy, to Bulgarian seminar, to Polish Prik conference event, to PPXVI in Barcelona, to Sino-French follow-up meeting…

S.Beech as PE100+ Consultant updated the audience on the butt fusion project and on the status of ISO and CEN standards.

The planned activities for 2013 were explained including promotion of our new website, participation to various conferences and follow-up of technical studies.

 It was followed by the guest speakers : results of (non) influence of MFI on butt welded joints integrity by Dr J.Hessel, non destructive welding testing by W.Wessing from Eon-Ruhrgas, LCA analyses on large diameter pipes by P.Belloir (PE100+ President), Italian experiences in PE pipelines by P.Del Gaudio from Genova reti gas and D.Nascetti from Hera group.

The rest of the day was devoted to working sessions, brain stormings about new applications and blocks to be removed by PE100+ Association and the future role/mission of PE100+ Association in 2020. Many ideas were collected and an action plan will be proposed on the most relevant ones.
