In the past ten years, China's plastic pipe industry has maintained a steady growth and made great progress in the upgrading of industrial structure, technological innovation, and improvement of quality levels. However, at the same time, in the face of the complex changes in the current economic situation, especially in the new situation of frequent occurrence of black swan event such as the "COVID-19", how will the china’s plastic pipe industry develop in the future? How to change from "largest" to "strongest"? How to achieve "best" from "maximum"? It has become the most important problem we need to solve now. This paper will analyze the current status, development trends and the main barriers of China's plastic pipe industry, and will focus on the four development directions - -“quality improvement, technological innovation, ecological development and intelligent development” to give the development proposals in the future.
