This article is to introduce the new designed plastic-steel-fiberglass composite pressure pipe (GSP pipe) for long distance water transportation, with max diameter 5000mm. This multimaterial composite pipe combines the steel hardness, PE anti-rust and fiberglass strength makes it long lifetime, higher pressure and material saving.
The GSP is processed by three layers whose inner layer is PE, middle layer is spiral welded steel, outer layer is winded fiber glass reinforcement, with 1.6Mpa pressure. The pipe is produced by roll plastic and winding.
The steel layer strength is 200 times as PE pipe, enhanced the pipe pressure and decreased the pipe wall thickness; PE inner layer makes the rust free, and lower water friction rate; outer layer fiberglass layer protect the steel pipe from rust and increases the ring stiffness. The pipe is produced with bell and spigot which makes the installation easier, faster and lower cost. All of the features of the new composite big diameter pipe make it a potential replacement pipe on long distance water transportation to solve the problems of fragile cements pipe and easy rust steel pipe.
