In recent years, the Chinese plastic pipe industry has maintained a high growth rate and in 2012 the production of plastic pipe in China amounted to over 11 million tons. This not only provides important benefits due to the outstanding performance of plastic pipe, such as corrosion resistance, smooth wall, easy installation, etc, but also strengthens the macro-economic development and municipal engineering, engineering construction, water conservancy and the overall agricultural and industrial development. These in turn contribute the increase of production capacity, applications, product range, technological progress and standardization.
By 2013, the total production capacity of the plastic pipe industry in China has reached 25,000,000 tons, and the output has reached at 12,100,000 tons continuing the trend in recent years (see Table 1). The number of small scale manufacturers is reducing although in total there are still 5,000 enterprises in China. The annual production capacity of the top 20 enterprises has now reached more than 2,500,000 tons, accounting for more than 25% of the industry's total output, which means that industrial concentration is increasing.

In PPXX, a technology was presented for the first time that could bi-axially orient polyolefin pipes. With this technology, it is possible to prepare pipes that have a performance far beyond the standard ones. One approach to achieving this performance is via a continuous in-line process. To optimize the in-line...

The required wall thickness for a fully fused HDPE water main subject to an earthquake induced lateral spread is addressed in this paper. The water main is assumed to be buried via cut and cover (i.e., open cut with typical burial depths in the 2 to 15 feet range) procedures and any laterals have small diameters. For...
