Element Materials Technology
Exova is now Element. The Element plastic pipes testing laboratory delivers independent test data for classification and life time evaluation. The capabilities include ISO/IEC 17025 accredited hydrostatic pressure testing to ISO 9080 (MRS) and to ASTM D2837 (HDB), and chlorine resistance testing to ASTM F2023 and ASTM F2263. Our crack propagation test methods include determination of resistance to slow crack growth (SCG) to ISO 13479, and rapid crack propagation (RCP, S4) to ISO 13477.
Element also offers experimental high flow circulation loop testing in addition to hydrostatic pressure tests, where we can help you simulate pipe life expectancy affected by bend radius, types of fittings and pipe insulation using flowing water containing dissolved oxygen. Our experts also provide advisory services with deep technical expertise in standardization, approvals, optimized testing programs and interpretation of test results based on solid experience in plastic pipes testing.
This laboratory is one of very few independent laboratories in the world in this field with a total capacity of 5,000 test stations. It was established in Nyköping, Sweden in the early 1970's and serves plastic pipe materials manufacturers, pipe extruders, certification bodies and utility companies worldwide. We were previously Exova, and following the Element Materials Technology acquisition of Exova Group plc in 2017 we changed our name into Element in 2018.
