Securing access to safe water and sanitation is recognised as one of the world’s most pressing societal and environmental challenges. Launched in 2007 by Borealis and Borouge,‘Water for the World’ is a programme platform to advance solutions, expertise and know-how to address this challenge. Activities are grouped in three focus areas : improving access to water and sanitation, promoting sustainable water management practices to preserve water resources, and raising awareness in communities and across the value chain, have directly touched more than 300,000 people around the world. This paper highlights several examples of projects conducted in partnership with various stakeholders and presents reflections collected after this 5-year period of experience.
