Flexible Thermoplastic Pipes buried in Soft Soils

Materials and their Characteristics

The series of tests dealt with in the paper was carried out under field conditions. These test installations, conducted in connection with actual installations, were realized in such a way that the test conditions and the conclusions from the results would correspond to actual everyday installation practice as reliably as possible. The theoretical study, the deformations measured on the pipes, the earth pressures measured around the pipes and the measured strains in the pipe walls prove that the behaviour of flexible thermoplastic pipes can be approximated, when using only soft soils around the pipes
