Development of Steel Mesh Reinforced Plastic Composite Pipe and Investigation

Design Aspects of Plastics Pipes

Plastic Pipes Conference Association # 2001 Munich

Sun, Niu, J.Sun

Steel mesh reinforced plastic composite pipe, possessing advantages of both metal and plastics, is a new type pipe that made a perfect combination of steel wire mesh and thermoplastics. A general description of characteristics of pipe structure, production process, pipe performance analysis and model projects of engineering application of steel mesh reinforced plastic piping products is given in this article, and methods and formulas for calculation of pressure rating of the pipe is also brought forward.
