It is a well known fact that plastics have advanced into fields of application that have hitherto been open only to conventional materials. This is a development that is making steady progress, from which the question arises as to what places, and under what conditions, plastics pipes can be suitably used for chemical fluids, taking in account the economic factors. The pertinent technical and scientific considerations are the basis for the prevention of risks and possible damages.
