Market success factors agree with sustainability indicators to a large extent, both being multi-dimensional. Complete life cycle considerations are essential for comprehensive assessments. PVC pipeline systems are shown to be competitive considering all three sustainability categories, economic, ecological, and social. Options for further improvement of PVC pipeline systems are discussed.
