in opening the paper I think I should first explain that I propose :ca deviate a little from the precise subject described in the title. When the !itle wzs agreea with the Organising Secretary, ! was under the impression that my company organisation was a good deal better than it now appears to be and, to my cost, ! have found that to write case histories would, in general terms, be extremely difficult, iC'not impossib!e, due to the deficiencies in our system o+ Keeping records. If nothing else, the produrtior of this paper has been responsible for a radical change in the office organisation.
I shall, therefore, be talking to you about my experiences with the use of plastics over the last ten years and although we are, strictly speaking, here to discuss plastic pipes, I trust you will forgive me if I mention one or rwo minor matters whichs hould be of interest. which - are plastic but which are certainly - not pipes.
