Solving the Creeping Problem Mechanical Tapping Saddles Have on PE Pipes [PE]

Plastic Pipes Conference Association # 2004 Milan

Monsen

My paper today is based on the Isiflo Tapping Saddle, a new and uniquely patented system for mechanical tapping on plastic pipes, which has been especially designed to solve creeping problems. To solve this problem the two main functions of a mechanical tapping saddle have been separated. Positioning/securing the saddle on the pipe is done by a lever-arm system. A spring-loaded compensator is providing a constant sealing against the pipe Through this unique design the ISIFLO Tapping Saddle has the following advantages : Constant o-ring compression Springs compensating for creep in the PE pipe over time and maintaining the constant o-ring compression. Quick and simple assembly, without any tooling. Produced in corrosion resistant materials
