Recent Developments to Overcome Problems with Drain Reconnections in Plastic Sewer Linings

The report outlines the problem that drain connections Wse on small diameter sewer renovation and equimnt development that is taking place to overcome them. The principal topics covered are:

  1. the removal of protruding connections prior to relining ;
  2. the subsequent re-opening of drains;
  3. grouting to make a mth transition between the drain and sewer

A distinction is made in the renort between techniques which are established by field testing and which are still under development. Much of the work described is being undertaken in liaison with Regional Water Authorities, their Agents and various contractors/manufacturers at the Engineering Centre test-rig facilities in Swindon, the aim being to make renovation available in future for the majority of sewers requiring rehabilitation.
