With alternative installation techniques for drinking water pipes, the installed pipe has to take high stresses because of point loads and outside damages. The specific raw material characteristics, which have been proven by different test results, have been transferred to a pipe system, which allows cost savings with the pipe installation to a large extent, without having to compromise regarding the lifetime of the pipeline.

With the increased urbanisation and the climate change perspectives, an integrated approach of storm water management is imperatively required. The creation of underground buffer reservoirs to temporarily store storm water using Polypropylene infiltration boxes is gaining in significance at a world-wide level. However...

Polyethylene pipes are particularly suited to non-conventional pipe installation thanks to their flexibility, deformability, and availability in long lengths. However, the widespread use of modern relining techniques or fast and non-disturbing pipe installation practices call for guaranties of performance,...

The last years have seen the emergence of several multi-layer pipe structures based on polyolefin materials (PE 80 – PE 100 – PE-X – PP). The combination of a polyolefin with another functional layer in a multi-layer structure enables taking advantage of the properties of the different components. The advantages of...

The development of improved toughness properties of PE pipe resins agrees with the implementation of modern PE pipe installation technologies. Especially the increased resistance to Stress Cracking and to Slow Crack Growth allows contemplation of improved economics, longer lifetime and higher safety. However the...
