PElOO

First introduced only 10 years ago, PElOO started to grow on the market really from the Midnineties . At the present growth rate the world-wide requirement for PE100 should reach 250 000 todyear by the turn of the century . The main market is still of course Europe but the penetration is increasing rapidly in the Pacific area (even if the Asian crisis is definitely slowing-down the investments) and to a lesser extent in Latin America . Rut let's try to understand what is behind this development and what kind of impact PE100 is likely to have on the global plastic pipes market .

What is PElOO offering from a technical point of view?

The technical possibilities offered by the third generation Polyethylene (PE100) are now well know by most pipe manufacturers and consultants : a) Increased service pressure b) Reduced pipe wall thickness c) Increased hydraulic capacity d) Possibility to produce larger pipes e) Improved mechanical properties
