Opportunities for Polyolefins in Industrial Applications [PE]

Plastic Pipes Conference Association # 2001 Munich

Ettinger

Polyolefins have been used in chemical and industrial applications for many years with an impressive and highly successful track record.

However, the progress of polyolefin systems in substituting traditional materials such as cast iron, steel, concrete and clay has been much more striking in construction and utility markets.

The application examples for polypropylene, polyethylene and cross-linked polyethylene given in the following pages shall demonstrate the wide range of opportunities for successful usage in industrial conveying and storage systems. It may serve as a source of inspiration for driving further substitution of traditional, but sometimes less suitable and less advantageous materials.
