Long Term Tightness of Sealing Joints in Non-Pressure Plastic Piping Systems

Non-Pressure Pipes Systems

Plastic Pipes Conference Association # 2001 Munich

Scharwaechter

Design of new rubber seal joints during last years have focused more on reduction of jointing forces than of sealing forces. Which sealing quality is necessary to avoid capillary water transfer and leakage through the joints on short and long-term, is an open question. Based on existing publications and test results the technical background is presented and tendencies for design criteria are given.
